Losing files due to accidental deletion/formatting on USB flash devices can be infuriating if you don’t keep a back up copy. Luckily though, data recovery services and software can be used to find your lost files. This article looks at what file recovery work you can do yourself on USB flash memory, and what should be left to the experts.

Being able to undo file deletions/disk formatting is becoming one of the more everyday home computer repair tasks thanks to the capabilities of modern recovery software. Moreover, since flash memory runs on the FAT 32 file system (just like ing Windows & internal hard drives) you can use the same recovery tools on internal drives and flash keys.

Running these tools is quite simple. You install a suitable application (for example, freeware applications like PhotoRec or Recuva) and get them to analyze the flash memory. The program reassembles the data clusters (how each file’s content is stored in memory), presents you back the complete files it found and you pick which ones you wish to copy to your computer.

Data recovery services really become useful where there has been mechanical damage to the USB key. If this occurs then they can open up the device and read the memory directly using specialist tools. The cost of doing this may be prohibitive in many circumstances (it could run to hundreds of dollars) so you may find yourself questioning whether you need the data back, or whether you could reuse old backup copies of the files.

Data recovery services specialize in file retrieval from all types of storage so consequently have some forensic level data recovery tools at their disposal. So if your own attempts/software fails to retrieve documents then there still may be a chance that the experts could find some extra files.

The Kindle has been out for some time now and millions of people have bought it. With the release of the new Kindle 3 should you buy it if you do not already own the older version of the Kindle? Here is what I think and also what I intend to do.

I love to read and have now got a large number of books. In fact I probably own too many. It is actually starting to be a problem but I simply find it hard to get rid of books that I have bought. And this is the crux of the matter. Many of us are real hoarders and if we like to read we can find that very quickly our homes get totally overrun with book cases or shelves and piles and piles of books.

So if this sounds familiar then the new Kindle 3 may just be the answer to your prayers. You will find that you can store thousands of books on it as well as get access to millions of free books. This is certainly part of the attraction. The fact that you can read all books published before the early 1920′s for free. They do not have copyright so think how many classics you could read that you would never have actually gone out and bought.

That in itself is reason enough to buy the new Kindle 3 apart from the fact that it will stop you collecting books that you then are loathe to sell on or get rid off. Store them all on the great new Kindle 3 and you will never have that problem again. This is the perfect solution for me and I get the feeling that it is also the perfect solution for many other people as well. No more clutter, just a nice little box of magic that somehow manages to store over 3 thousand books, incredible.

With Kindle 3 covers just released we now have even more choice when it comes to picking a cool cover. For those who have the new Kindle 3 the choices are a little bit more limited but there are still enough to ensure that we can get a quality cover. The best Kindle covers are all going to have a few things in common though.

There really is no doubt that buying leather is by far the best option when it comes to getting a quality Kindle case. The fact is that they will last longer, be a lot more durable and hard wearing and look very good too. We want to ensure that the leather is good quality and comfortable to the touch too.

There are lots of great options to choose from so finding a very affordable leather Kindle cover should not be difficult. But let’s not just stick to any old leather cover. There are some other options that are certainly worth considering. I am talking about lighted Kindle covers. These are relatively new to the market yet are probably the best overall cover to buy.

There are lights that we can buy that clip on to the Kindle but they all take batteries. But the integrated lights in the covers work off the power of the Kindle itself. No running out of battery power, they just take a small amount of energy from the Kindle itself.

The lights simply flip up when needed then fold back down in to the cover when not in use. They are totally invisible and are certainly perfect for all those late night readers among us.

If you do want a very good quality cover for the Kindle then a leather cover with an integrated light is about the best possible option. It ensure that the Kindle is then as versatile as it can possibly be while still being protected in a very stylish manner.

“How to build your own iPad stand” is a good question you could ask yourself if you do not want to simply buy a stand from the internet. If you want to be innovative and use everything from the package of your iPad we have a great answer for you to the “How to build your own iPad stand”.

You can literary build iPad stands from the package with which it came. The only thing you need is a knife and the cardboard pieces that hold your iPad in its original box. You have to cut the pieces in half and then cut a perpendicular inclined notch that will practically hold your iPad. You will actually obtain 4 iPad stands from the 2 cardboard pieces in your iPad box. We hope you did not throw the box away already!

On the other hand if our answer to the how to build your own iPad stand question does not please you, or does please you but you also want to buy a more solid stand you should start searching for iPad stands on the internet. There are dozens of third party companies that produce such devices and each one of them probably says they have produced the best iPad stand.

You will find iPad stands made out of many materials. From aluminum to wood, there are dozens of types of materials that are currently being used for producing the best iPad stands. Which will you choose? Prices of iPad stands vary. You will find different iPad stands that are cheap. You can even find stands that are around 10 dollars, but if you want a more exclusive stand the price may even escalate to 100 dollars or more.

If you want an even more practical accessory that can be used in more ways with your iPad we recommend you an iPad folding case. Most iPad folding cases will also be able to act as iPad stands. You will basically have an accessory that actually incorporates two accessories at once, making for one of the best ipad stands around.

The best thing you can do is to start looking for accessories for your iPad if you want to use it to its full potential. There are hundreds of sites all over the net that sell diverse types of accessories for your iPad so just go ahead and start looking for the best of them.

Among the primary concerns when you have a business are security and safety. Even though theft and break-ins don’t happen all the time, it is still a matter that should be taken care of. By preparing for the worst, you can be sure that you can relax and not worry about threats. Others take this for granted and have learned their lesson the hard way. You must also consider that threats doesn’t come from outside alone; it can also happen inside the premises. It is really difficult to imagine that your business is at risk with these existing threats. However, there is a way to prevent these things from happening. You can use biometric access control system.

Because of this new system, you are provided with a security system and an electronic clock that will surely prevent the entry of thieves. It will really be difficult for these thieves and spies to get the information that they want from your company. With this technology, you can limit your access on certain parts of the building thus permitting only those authorized persons. This system allows you to monitor individuals who enters and goes out of the building.

Another good feature of this system is its electronic clock. With this clock, you will be able to see what time an employee logged in or logged out. You can observe whether your employees work on time or they have over breaks. These few minutes are surely a great loss to the company when you add them up. Because of this scenario, financial losses are obtained. By having biometric access control system, you can eliminate this problem and have disciplined employees.

How then does this system work? Every employee of your company is given a unique identifier; it can be a personal identification number (PIN) or their very own fingerprint. This will be used so that they will be recognized when they access a specified area in the building and also to log them in on the electronic clock. By making use of these fingerprints as identification for the biometric access control system, you can be sure that an employee will not have the chance to clock in other employees. It will also prevent unauthorized individuals from entering areas that are restricted.

If you want to ensure the security of your office or warehouse, or if you want to eliminate the loss of manpower hours, it is therefore advised that your company get a biometric door lock. You can inquire from companies that offer this system. You may have an evaluation so that you can determine which one is suited for you. By having this type of system, you can be sure that your business and office is secure and safe.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 1490T sat nav. We spend a lot of time together in the car, I love everything about it, expect for one thing: the voiced instructions. Now don’t get me wrong, I prefer to hear the instructions rather than having to look at the sat nav screen. What I don’t like is the actual voice.

In the beginning it was OK. It was a new sat nav and the voice was a novelty. The more time I spent in the car having to listen to the same dull, repetitive, voice the more it drove me crazy!

Over a coffee, I was venting my frustration with one of my geeky friends. You know the type, you hand them a gadget or some new piece of technology and they seem to instantly understand it. Anyway, he told me that the it’s easy to change the voice.

Apparently, there are many websites offering celebrity sat nav voices for people just like me that are fed up with the regular voice.

To install the new voice is pretty simple: just find a website that has the voice you want; download the files to your computer; attach the sat nav to the computer; copy the files over to the sat nav and finally select the new voice in the options screen. If that doesn’t sound so simple, I agree. Which is why I had my friend go ahead and do it for me.

If everything went well then, you should hear the new voice. If not, you may need to find a friend to help you out and find out what went wrong.

Luckily, my Nuvi 1490 is capable of changing the voice. It seems that not all sat nav manufacturers allow this to be done. For instance, with my previous budget sat nav the Binatone G350, I would have been stuck with the default voice. I guess you get what you pay for!

There is no doubt about it, Apple make some gorgeous looking products. When you own a macbook, iPhone or iPad you want to keep it looking great, and to do that you are going to need a protective case. Without one of these your device is going to get scratched and tatty quite quickly. That beautiful, shiny aluminum back side of any of these devices can quickly turn into just a mess of scratches, smudges and scrapes without an ipod or ipad cover.

The iPad is a small, but very useable device. It’s screen is just under ten inches, so it fits well in the hand, but is also compact enough to slip in to a small everyday bag. It is when you are putting it in such a bag that you want to make sure it is in an ipad protective case. This will keep it from getting knocked and scratched by the other things in your bag such as keys and books.

The official Apple case is quite ingenious. It is made out of very sleek looking leather, and aside from keeping your iPad looking great by protecting it from scratches and scrapes, it also functions as a stand. You can position the case in to the optimum angle for typing with the on-screen keyboard, or for watching a movie or reading a book from the newly launched iBook store. The Apple case for the ipad is clearly the nicest one currently available, but like all things Apple, it comes with a hefty price tag. There are other options for ipad cases.

If you don’t want to spend the money on the Apple case, or your don’t want to draw attention to your gadget with the Apple logo, you can look to one of the other companies producing cases. There are many types to choose from. These range from the leather slip cases which are only in use when you are carrying your device around, to the cases with protective screen covers that you can use for really putting your iPad to work. Select a case that is appropriate to what you are doing with your iPad. Some cases will even be large enough to house your other ipad accessories, so bear this in mind if that is something your require, just make sure that you keep everything well protected.

Whatever Apple ipad case you choose, you will be glad that you that you got it. Such a fabulous piece of engineering and art needs to be protected so that is looks great and works great for years to come.

The iPad is Apple’s new revolutionary tablet that will be a great addition to anyone’s electronic collection. Whether you are interested in reading a book on the go, watching a movie while you wait, or taking notes in a presentation, the iPad is right for you.

While the iPad is not a fully functional laptop by any means, it is in fact a beautiful go between from the wonders of a personal computer to the handy elements of an iPhone or iPod. The iPad will include all of the elements of the iPod Touch such as music, movies, photos, and the thousands of other independent applications put out by third part contributes. But what’s more, with the larger screen comes more room for the development of new and improved applications. Apple themselves have begun with the new generation of applications by revamping their own iWorks products of Pages, Numbers and Keynote to work perfectly with their new iPad.

The iPad also rivals the other ebook readers on the market such as Amazon’s Kindle and Barnes and Noble’s Nook. With Apple’s application “iBooks” and their new iBookstore, soon thousands of titles, from classics to best sellers, will be available for instant download on the iPad.

One of the greatest features of the new iPad is it’s connectability. All iPads come with a built in Wi-Fi card so you can access the internet through any hot spot. But, for a small price, you can you get a 3G network built in and have access to the internet on the go anytime you want. Apple and AT&T are making this 3G network available without a contract so that you can pay-as-you-go and not worry about another monthly bill.

With new applications and ongoing development, the iPad will quickly turn into the world’s new revolutionary tablet technology. Be sure to check out iPad Accessories for all the latest and greatest news on the iPad including a nice assortment of iPad speakers.

Docking stations for your iPods are not just made to recharge the popular digital music players. There are now a large number of iPod docking stations with speakers, and if you know what to look for when you decide to buy one, you can have a terrific listening experience even if you are on a budget.

These with-speaker docking stations are not always celebrated for top-of-the-line sound, but foremost you want a docking station whose sound is as close to wholly clean and true stereo as you can find for the money. You may also want a docking station that will not cause too much interference if you want to receive a phone call while listening to music, if you seek a station with iPhone compatibility. One of the highest-praised such stations is Logitech’s Pure-Fi Anywhere 2, which has added iPhone compatibility and is getting high marks for little to no interference or buzz. The only major flaws any reviewers have spotted are an automatic speaker shutoff when volume is turned down low enough, and an inconsistent remote control. However, it is considered one of the best of its breed for the price range (around $100-120).

If your budget is $150 or under, you have several good choices. Weighing in at exactly $100, in fact, is the Memorex Mi1111 mini-boomboz, which features an iPod dock adapter set and delivers quality sound. The Griffin Amplifi, at $150, gets high marks for sound and for adapters that can be fitting to any iPod model, as well as a simple-to-use remote control. The Samson StudioDock 3i looks a little ponderous at first—two individual speakers connected similarly to a standard stereo or full-size boom box setup. However, is considered to have superior sound quality even at high volumes, and is compatible to all iPod and iPhone models, which may make its $150 price tag one of the best values for the money if you can live without portability.Nevertheless, if you have less than $100 to spend, the iHome iP9 may be the best ipod docking station for you. It is a modest-sized iPod/iPhone docking alarm clock/radio with well-regarded sound quality even though some reviewers criticized its modest bass range. It also has a solid remote iPod main menu control, but if you use the Edge network rather than the 3G iPhone network you may hear very slight buzz when taking a call.

A gun is an expensive investment and protection of this weapon from theft and unauthorized access is essential. Earlier, gun owners used to safeguard their firearms in wooden gun cabinets. However today, gun safes are the preferred choice to protect the guns. Gun safes are available in various sizes, shapes and security features. Some of the popular locking mechanisms used in gun safes are mechanical key locks, electronic keypads, combination number locks and biometric locking systems. A biometric fingerprint gun safe is one of the most advanced gun safes and they provide maximum protection against theft and unwanted access.

As the name indicates, fingerprint gun safes use biometric locking systems. As each person has unique fingerprint, it is not possible for an unauthorized person to open this kind of gun safe. Another added advantage is that one need not worry about losing the keys or forgetting the combination numbers. While using a fingerprint gun safe, accessibility of the gun is just a finger touch away. Unlike key lock or combination lock, opening a biometric gun safe is not time consuming. One can safely store and access the gun by using a biometric gun safe.

While using biometric gun, you can program your safe to identify multiple fingerprints. Thus, in the event of injury to the gun owner, some other authorized person can retrieve the gun from the safe. Storing, managing and erasing the fingerprint from the safe are very easy. Hence, one can add or delete the fingerprints multiple times.

If you want a gun safe that is easy to operate and offers easy access to the stored gun, fingerprint gun safe is the best solution. You can purchase a biometric gun safe from a retail shop or from an online shop. When you have a biometric gun safe, you can relax knowing that your firearm is stored in a safe and secure cabinet.
