In the 2010 study of security suites, the Checkpoint Zone Alarm Internet Security 2010 was ranked in the twelfth position. Priced at forty dollars (for 3 users as on March 29th 2010), it possesses the fundamental features namely, antivirus, firewall, antispam, antiphishing as well as Internet security features. It also comes with a one year credit bureau monitoring in case of ID theft. However, it performed poorly in tests conducted for detecting latest malware threats.

The Zone Alarm Internet Security has a neat interface, best compared to others. Changing configuration is easy, but it cannot turn off JavaScript or ActiveX inside the ForceField tool which monitors malware. The virtualization feature, emulating the operating system partly makes attackers assume that they are successful, but actually they are not. The code is run separately from the PC, so that the PCs operating system is protected from attack.

Zone Alarm could detect all test samples, disabling 80% of the infections. Though the result is good, it is behind the top performers that disabled 90% or more of malware samples. A malware removal rate of thirteen percent from Zone Alarm Internet Security was the least.

The performance was good for rootkit detection as well as disinfection. It detected 87% of inactive rootkits, 100% of the active rootkits. It removed 87% of rootkits. The topper is Norton Internet Security which could detect as well as remove all rootkits including stealth malware which conceals other infections.

Zone Alarm Internet Security showed the worst software performance, in the test conducted with behavioral scanning (detecting malware based on its behavior on PC). It detected just 13% of the test samples and could block 7% of them, but unable to render total removal of any sample. This test which can efficiently judge the response for threats from brand-new malware proved Zone Alarm a problematic one.

In order to compensate this failure, Zone Alarm Internet Security uses multiple firewalls, present in the PC’s operating system kernel which makes up the indispensable parts. This prevents running of rootkits or malware. Though they weren’t tested directly, its inadequate behavioral scanning must be noted. Its customary malware detection ability, detected 97% of the samples, showing an average performance. The best one could detect 99.9% of the samples.

Zone Alarm Internet Security suite showed an overall average performance. The boot time of 52.49 seconds was 5.5 seconds slower on the average scale. It performed better in access scan test to find the speed of response for virus scanning while opening or saving files. It scanned 4.5 GB in 3minutes and 34 seconds. The topper took 2 minutes and 51 seconds.
As such Zone Alarm Internet Security cannot be recommended based on behavioral detection. An extra 10 dollars will fetch Zone Alarm Extreme Security for more protection of Internet browser sandbox running all browser applications.

The author enoys writing informative article of technology and video gaming. I keen interest these days is in the latest game console add-ons, namely the MOVE for the Playstation and the new Kinect 360. Games on both platforms look to be taking motion control to a new level. However, the Kinect games are really more intriguing because they function without the need for a motion controller.

Xp laptops are losing ground to the more sophisticated breed of Windows 7. These laptops have been a part of portfolios but their time has gone, and they need to go as well.

Windows XP was released in 2000 and Microsoft has been patching it since then. There were 3 major service packs, heroic efforts to douse the fire. Windows XP has its reputation for security and power management issues. 32 bit versions are still popular but should you ever get more than 3 gigabytes of memory in your laptop, you’ll get to discover that there are limitations to this technology. A 64 bit version is needed for your laptop to be able to map more than 4 gigabytes of memory and video card memory is also counted. Modern processors are able to execute 64 bit operations but windows has been holding development in that direction back, basically using a system with it was a ticket for a ride if you wanted to have all your accessories and programs to work.

The most popular version of Windows 7 is also on 32 bits but 64 bit versions are supplied with proper drivers written by manufacturers and apart from legacy applications it runs everything written for 32 or 64 bit XP very well. Windows 7 also has more options to keep the power consumption at a tolerable level, such as automatically simplifying graphic settings so that shiny details don’t consume any memory or processor power while on battery. Windows XP laptops were known for their bad habit of refusing to go into hibernation or sleep mode, 7 fixed these for good.

A market segment is still open for Windows XP on laptops though, netbooks are often sold with this operation system due to its lower price and lower initial memory consumption. Both qualities are great when resources are limited both money and power. If you are serious about picking one up, maybe because your parents are reluctant about getting used to Windows 7 or you like it better, I suggest you to do that until Christmas as we won’t see them around for too long.

At the E3 conference in 2009, Microsoft’s announcement of Project Natal, an accessory that will allow you to control video games with your entire body, was definitely revolutionary. I am definitely eagerly awaiting the Project Natal release, as I know many others are. Since mid-2009, when it was announced, not much information has been released as far as specific details, but there definitely are a few things, so I will go into them.

The first one is the release date. So far there have been no specific release dates set, though they have announced that it will be released during “holiday 2010.” While this is a very vague time frame, most people are guessing that it will be in the first few weeks of November, to get it out into the market before black Friday, and still allow it to be a huge buzz over the holiday season. Other people are speculating a release earlier than that because Microsoft won’t want to be short of supply and out of stock with Project Natal once black Friday hits.

So far, there really haven’t been any announcements as far as Natal games, and what games will be available at launch. Though there have definitely been some ideas thrown around, nothing is set in stone. All of the announcement videos that showed demos of Project Natal, all featured a disclaimer saying that it is for showing how the product will work, not necessarily the exact games.

One game for sure that was mentioned, that has been kind of thrown around as a possibility was Halo: Reach. Since the Halo franchise is one of the most popular games in Xbox’s history, and the fact that Reach is coming out around the same time as Project Natal, people were excited for the possibility of a Project Natal Halo. But, Bungie, the makers of Halo, have said that Halo: Reach will not be a Natal title, but the specific phrasing used makes people think that while it will mainly use a regular controller, Halo: Reach could indeed utilize Project Natal in some way.

Payment fees and download speeds are just a few issues that come with purchasing a fleet tracking software. To begin with, a fleet tracking software is a program that has been made to provide data that is consistently accurate and on time. GPS tracking then uses this generated information to determine the company fleet vehicles’ exact locations and activities while sending out navigation updates on these every couple of minutes. In addition, live tracking really keeps track of vehicle dispatching and their on-time services.

By using a passive GPS tracking procedure, data is then stored in their tracking unit while waiting for the fleet vehicles to return back to the office. Then, having access to a wireless connection, they will now download GPS data. Often, passive tracking systems perform their functions well in activity verification, engine management and calculations of the time spent with customers.

Even at a low investment, GPS Fleet Solutions uses GPS fleet tracking to meet their customers’ needs by providing the right form of technology and good customer service as well. Learning and studying about their customers’ need is their main mission so they can share their knowledge and proficiency in facing business issues and increasing production. GPS FLEET Solutions has provided more than a couple of products to be able to meet and provide the requirements of their clients for business purposes.

Open GTS is also another fleet tracking software that offers a full featured solution for your tracking needs. They do authentications through the Web that makes their features accessible to anyone. Besides, in your account, you can hold up to many users as you can with their own username and password. Their version also supports several mapping services of Mapstraction, Microsoft Visual Earth and Google Maps. Within their framework, other providers can also be incorporated with less effort.

Geofencing, or the ability to create geozones or marking a map into territories, is also included. The good thing is that these territories can have their own custom names, allowing more proficient and organized tracking services to come through.

OpenGTS is also OS-independent which means that it can be accessed with whatever operating system you are using, from Microsoft Vista to Linux, OpenGTS can function very well. They are also compatible with almost any GPS tracking device that allows businesses to track different devices with just one platform. They are also an i18n compliant that supports easy translations to other languages from English to German to Spanish.

Additionally, data that has been collected through the use of fleet maintenance tracking software will be a big help in decision-making which then can prevent you and your business to spending large amounts of money and can still change your daily routine to an easier one. Collective Fleet is a fleet maintenance tracking software that handles both vehicle fleet maintenance and all other important employee facts such as records, tools and parts, fuel consumption and other expenses as well. With this software, you can manage both fleet maintenance and operations with all necessary tools.

Collective Fleet has provided both software modules and hardware inclusion which are originally designed to improve client transactions. Their modules based on the Web include mobile applications as well as Web-enabled hosting, giving users more variety. Bar code scanners can also be included to improve the accurateness of the standard inventory system while adding mobile devices will make data gathering handier. Certainly the combination of human force and popular trends in technology will only finish with a great conclusion.
