September 22, 2010

With the recent release of the Nikon P7000 Coolpix, the competition has heated up in the advanced digital point and shoot category where to date the Canon G series has reigned supreme, specifically the Canon G11 which Nikon has clearly set their target on with the new Nikon Coolpix P7000.

Featuring the same rangefinder style as the Canon G11, with easy to use and access dial controls on top of the camera body for ISO, shutter, aperture settings and more, the new Nikon P7000 also offers a big 1.7 inch digital sensor with 10.1 megapixels for spectacular prints that look great even when printed poster sized.

The lens on any digital camera could be considered the most important feature of any digital camera and here again Nikon doesn’t disappoint . Offering high quality Nikon ED glass elenents combined with a focal length zoom ratio of 7.1x which translates to 28mm on the wide end and 200mm on the zoom or telephoto range this lens on the Nikon P7000 is much more flexible and with higher quality optics than you might find on cheaper digital cameras.

In 2010 there’s not many digital camera manufacturers that make the mistake of omitting the ability to shoot full HD video and again the Nikon P7000 offers full HD video recording a 720p. Sharing videos is easy too as all you have to do is hook up the HDMI port to your HDTV for easy connection and video sharing. Of course downloading your videos to your computer with the Nikon P7000 couldn’t be easier to do and allows for q uick and easy video sharing to popular sharing sites such as facebook and youtube

The Nikon P7000 is sure to please those looking for a digital camera that offers more setting flexibility and bigger zoom range than what can be found on most point and shoot digital cameras but still are looking for any easy to use and easy to carry digital camera as well.
