Why should you get a refurbished laptop? That’s an excellent question, and is exactly what I want to address with this article. Refurbished laptops are laptops that have been returned to a like-new condition, and offer customers an excellent value in terms of money spent versus what you’re actually getting. Often, refurbished laptops are offered both online and in stores for significant savings over newer models. For example, a laptop that would have normally gone for $2,000 right off the factory floor may go for $1,000 or less if purchased refurbished. If that’s not an excellent reason to go for a refurbished system over a newer one, I don’t know what is.
Refurbished laptops also offer significant savings for business applications. Businesses that are required to purchase a large number of laptops for its employees can benefit with the use of refurbished systems over new ones. Instead of going for new systems for a large amount of money, reconditioning companies will often offer bulk discounts for a large number of laptops purchased. In the long term, these companies can save 30-40% or more over buying the new systems.
Are factory refurbished laptops as good as new ones when it comes to games and applications that require a large amount of processing power? Yes, in fact, they are. Don’t be fooled when it comes to buying reconditioned: These laptops, though lightly used, are still perfectly suitable for most applications. Companies performing a full refurbishment will test each laptop, bringing each one back up to the standards required for when it was brand new. A refurbished computer will run those games and other applications just as well as a new one; you can’t count on that.
With these reasons, there are very few reasons NOT to buy reconditioned. Have a look and see what you think.
